Director, Business Development: Large Deals.

AI/ML is one of the hottest ideas in the market today and almost mainstream in most of the large businesses globally and Tiger Analytics is consistently rated as one of the fastest growing firms in this space, specifically in our ability to deliver high-impact business value. And as a senior and critical leader of the Business Development Team at Tiger Analytics, you will play a high-impact role in achieving our client acquisition and revenue growth objectives in one of our strategic business objectives: Large Deals. We would like a significant portion of our revenue to come from Large Deals in the coming years.

The role will involve working with our VP and Global Head for Business Development and Customer Success, our Chief Sales Officer and our CEO, in addition to various business leaders across the company. It will also involve taking calls / meetings with senior client executives at Director, VP, CXO levels (for AI/ML/DS/DE services) with our prospects/clients, making high-impact presentations and shaping the largest of our deals.

This person will report directly to the Global Head for Business Development and Customer Success. Base Location would be Chennai- Mumbai- Bengaluru-anywhere else in India, in that order of preference.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 15+ years in client-facing roles, of which 10+ years in direct business development/consulting, preferably working on Large Deals in Analytics/AI/ML/Big Data/Data Science/Data Engineering/Business Consulting/related Services/Solutions industries
  • Significant experience working in or with the US market
  • Ability to generate leads for Large Deals across the go-to-market channels
  • Consultative Sales Skills to shape conversations leading to Large Deals
  • Expertise in winning Large RFPs in a structured and methodical fashion
  • Industry experience / exposure to one or more of the following: Insurance, Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, Healthcare-Pharma-Life Sciences, Technology-Media-Telecom, Manufacturing, Transporation, Banking and Financial Services, Real Estate, among others.
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set to be able to frame up and execute strategies to meet or beat the targets for Large Deals while being aligned to the company strategy and culture
  • Business Consulting Skills
  • Reasonable familiarity with analytical problem solving 
  • Experience of owning Sales and P/L targets
  • Account Mining expertise
  • Outstanding communication, listening and presentation skills
  • Out-of-the-world proposal writing and presentation skills
  • Superlative relationship-building 
  • Strong people management and inspiration skills
  • Super-high levels of “discussion-stamina”, to be able to talk to multiple prospects as well as multiple internal stakeholders to make wins happen
  • Superlative commitment, flexibility, and motivation to stay focused and win clients 
  • Should be able to learn and deliver results quickly
  • Willingness to travel abroad: mostly to the US, attending conferences and/or meeting key clients to take leads to a winning closure.

Good to have criteria: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Sciences
  • MBA or equivalent
  • Experience across lead lifecycle and lead management strategies
  • Experience in Lead Generation, Digital Marketing, CRM-Sales-Marketing Automation Tools
  • Experience in developing and closing major wins
